I've been really busy at work recently, I'm sure you can tell from my blogging. We're currently short-staffed so I had to step up and juggle even more responsibilities. I wasn't happy about it at first but with God's help I've pulled through, I just keep praying my boss hires someone capable soon.

Priorities - Peace Oseyenum
| Source |
"Sometimes we can get stuck seeking provision first, instead of seeking our Provider.
Sometimes we can get stuck seeking out approval or affirmation from people, instead of going to God first and experiencing His love.
Other times we'll see our value in our accomplishments instead of seeing that God created us with value, even before we ever did anything to deserve it.
Our value is built upon His love for us.
We can so easily sell out and miss our purpose by seeking other things before God's will in our lives. What is He doing? What is He saying? Jesus said He only did what He saw the Father doing - nothing more, nothing less. (John 5:19)
Are we seeking God's kingdom first? (Matt 6:33), Are we putting His purposes first before seeking out provision?
God will make sure our needs are met when we put His kingdom first."

Choose Wisely cont. - Peace Oseyenum
This is the continuation from part one here, which was for this guys but this is for you Ladies!
***
Dear Madame,
I understand that you need stability, as a man I must provide.
As a female you need protection and security. I mean how could I take you from the comfort if your fathers house and bring you a world of unnecessary struggle due to my inability to save and work hard to provide for our household.

But if I told you that money wasn't the all in all, would you still be committed? If I lost it all today would you still reflect the unconditional love of God? Would you still respect me? Would you still submit?
I can assure you now, that if there is any doubt in your mind and any of the above questions have the answer of no, then it's best we go our separate ways now. It's not because I don't love you, it's because I don't want you to be with me for the things that I have the same way you don't want me to choose you for the looks you have. The bible doesn't promise a problem free life, in fact he warns us that trials and tribulations will come!
So babe are you that helpmate? Are you the one to calm the storm or will you just add thunder? Are you the supporter or the hater? Will you intercede with me at hard-times or gossip with your girls about our problems. He who finds a wife finds a good thing. So choose wisely

Dear Sir,
If my hair is the reason you chose me well it's a weave
If my natural hair is the reason you chose me, well there's a possibility that I could go back to a texturizer
If it's the height; I wear heals
If it's the physique; I could blow up after in give birth
If it's the smile; not everything makes me laugh
If it's the personality; I get mood swings
If it's my eyes; they are actually very small
If it's my coco brown skin well unfortunately I'm not blemish free
The problem about choosing me based on my eternal beauty is that it's fleeting and won't last forever. Yes I am fearfully and wonderfully made but so is the other girl
If you chose me based on my character alone well praise God but even that is changing everyday, by Gods grace. You see It's a continuous process of pruning and fruit bearing so even choosing me based on character is still a dangerous decision. So what then? Well if your decision had anything to do with being led by the spirit of God and not fleshly desires then we are making progress. If your decision is also coupled by your desire to fulfil the will of God concerning your life we are hitting some golden nuggets. Ultimately though, if your decision is to love Christ and allow him to continue a good work in you so that you yourself can translate that unconditional love to your helpmate, we have hit a powerful point. They say he who finds a wife finds a good thing. Choose wisely.

The Importance of Praise & Worship - Peace Oseyenum
It is essential to develop a heart of praise and thanksgiving. If you neglect praise than you are robbing God of the gratitude he should receive, ultimately even if we praised him for all eternity it still wouldn't be enough therefore for us to not praise him at all is wrong! It is also vital to praise God because of who he is; he is faithful, merciful and loving and therefore deserves our all in all, when we do not habitually praise we habitually complain, moan and grow into depression when we don't get what we want when we want, as if it's all about us. So I encourage you to develop an intimate relationship with God whereby you seek his face and not just his hand, that you seek know him for yourself and not just for ministering purposes, that you actually grow to love him and be transformed in his very presence.
Imagine you spent 5 hours just worshipping and praising God, no interruptions, no distractions what do you think will happen? Now you don't have to spend 5 hours with God but we all know that we can spend 5 hours with our friends some of us even speak on the phone for 5 hours some of us scroll on Instagram for more! So what more with our maker? Let us "#PushForIntimacy" and with that develop a heart of gratitude that isn't circumstances based or based on material things that will perish on this earth anyway.
Praising and thanking God for who he is and not what we can get is true praise. I mean we simply cannot praise God only on what we have as we will never be stable, the bible doesn't promise us a journey with no issues rather it encourages us to have faith, to live by faith and not by faith, to not lean on our own understanding but to trust him, it teaches us to remain steadfast in times of troubles, trials, tribulations and suffering. So can you see that praising God when only things go our way is inconsistent? Also understand that we are not God and therefore do not know the beginning middle and end, so it would be wiser to trust God and praise him in all things seeing that the bible promises us that God will never leave nor fore-sake us and that he makes all things work out for those that love him and are called to his purpose. Therefore it would be unwise to complain, moan, be ungrateful and depressed as we can't see the end product.
Remember God is kind and loving, so even though something painful takes place learn to trust that God is in control and that it has a purpose. When Joseph (the dreamer) received a vision in his teenage years it didn't come to pass until much later in his life, and the journey he had was extremely painful and strenuous, infact based on his process that vision/dream didn't seem like it was ever going to happen. But atlas when everything fell into place, (the good and the bad) Joseph was able to say that "The Lord had made him fruitful in the land of his afflictions". So calm down, stop crying, stop the self-pity and rebuke the enemies lies. being anxious profits nobody! Therefore make your requests known unto God with thanksgiving and the let the peace of God bring rest. Start your praise journey today!

Pride: You.Dirty.Evil.Thing - Peace Oseyenum
Hey guys! Here's another post from one of my fave writers and guest blogger miss Peacy :)
Hope you enjoy and learn a thing or two
***
Please Read....
Pride- self righteousness, selfish pride, pride
that is malicious, indirect/mental/psychological pride.
Pride connected with shyness/low self esteem, conceited
pride, pride related to shame and condemnation.
Pride related to un-forgiveness/offences/sensitivity/emotions.
Pride related to dignity and self importance/
authority/titles/ self exaltation, arrogant pride and ignorance in pride, egotistical pride, competitive pride.
Pride related to rudeness/ bad attitude/prideful
behaviour and characterisation/ , pride related to beauty/self appearance.
Pride related to the inability listen to people
regardless of status etc etc, or pride related to the inability to seek for
help.
There is so much pride in this world that as Christians we may actual be oblivious or just plain ignorant towards the little shapes and forms it appears in. Pride isn’t just the character image of the tall, arrogant, muscular popular guy in American high school films that everyone LOVES to hates but wants to be friends with or pride isn’t just the basic ‘popular cheerleader’ girl who is rude and evil yet everyone envy’s. Nope. Pride is diverse.

Open Heavens: Any Commitment?
Continue for today's devotion.
This is the main reason most of us claim not to see the works of the Lord in our lives, and it all comes down to one question... "How committed are you to the Lord?"

A Little Motivation
Don't allow your disability to COMPLETELY disable you.
He will give you strengths in place of your weaknesses.
No one enjoys a pity party, Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder are blind but they didn't let it stop then from using their ears to help in making amazing music
Your solution needs to come out of you, with the help of God.
He will ask what you want (the answer is not what he can do) but what you want
Just keep doing what you can and don't focus on what you can't
There are a lot of people that just want to be where they are and just depend on others, build on yourself
you are unique and there is something about you that others don't have so don't focus on what you don't have.
This hunger for things that aren't yours can trigger greed and any other sins.
Whatever we concentrate or focus on becomes a giant in our lives ...like negativity... and it's an easy thing to do. But the Bible says seek first the kingdom of God and everything else will follow (Matthew 6:33), prioritize the kingdom and God will take care of the rest. The Bible also says, Without faith it is impossible to please Him (Hebrew 11:6).
Faith is knowing the Word, believing in it and acting on it,
If the word of God is big enough in your life it'll cast out every doubt.
Focus on ur strengths and dont just stop there, do something
vision, core values, experiences
The ability to create our future is in our hand and Jesus has done his part
-Pastor Wale Adefarasin
I listened to a sermon on the This Present House church website and these are just a few things I picked from it that I thought I'd share. His main Bible verse was John 5:1-6, the Pool of Bethesda story. Bethesda meaning House of Mercy, Pool of Grace. All I've written can genuinely help me personally and with that I'm sure it can help one or two people who read the blog, just a little motivation to give you that extra push that you need to get through something.
Thank you so much for those who left a little feedback on my random forgiveness post. I really appreciate it and I'll keep you updated on my progress. :)
Love,
Eki
P.S: A lot of us spend time on the internet doing rubbish, yes! Rubbish! There are also a lot of beneficial things on this internet so please use it to your advantage as well and take some time out to look into a few bible verses, sermons and a lot of other good stuff.

#Nowplaying
Hey guys!
Happy Easter! Hope everyone enjoyed the extended weekend. I didn't, had way too much work on my hands and all nighters have become the usual, this is the disadvantage of procrastination.
Anyone that follows me on twitter will notice I only tweet #nowplaying this #nowplaying that so I've decided to update you lot here on what I'm loving at the moment. Be it new releases, oldies and throwbacks, Nigerian or not, I listen to them all lol.
So I'm currently loving Justin's 20/20 Experience album. Honestly I can't pick one song but Mirror is just something else, more like epic. A lot of people don't seem to like Suit & Tie but I think it only appeals to a certain ear if you get what I mean :/ (confused on how to explain better). It's really not a horrible song, I just think you have to have an ear for a certain sound to appreciate the song and all it's awesomeness. Strawberry Bubblegum, Pusher Love Girl, Tunnel Vision, Don't Hold The Wall... the list goes on. Some songs give me a little nostalgic feeling though, they remind me of his old stuff and honestly I don't mind but it I know some people that don't really like that. Timbaland... Forever a genius.
Currently Loving: Castles remix - L Marshal, Burna Boy & Niyola
Feel Alright - SDC ft Boj & Poe
Can't get tired of: Bastard - Three Wise Men
One song that would describe how I feel right now???
The Weekend - Michael Gray
Because I dance around in bathing suits every weekend and make photocopies of my derriere.
I honestly don't know how often I'll do this but we'll see, I'm just in the library atm tryna take a short break and I thought I'd update you guys.

Seek Right
I took this from the daily devotional written by Pastor E.A Adeboye, I was really touched by it and I hope you'll be too. Many times we loose sight of what's important and I pray that this will remind everyone what the one important thing is so we all stop chasing shadows. Amen.
Sunday 17 February
SEEKRIGHT
Memory Verse: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these thing shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33
Read: Matthew 6:31-33
Mat 6:31† Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
Mat 6:32† (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
Mat 6:33† But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
†
Message
When you are very happy, watch your actions or else you will become a victim of that happiness. The target of true followers of Christ is not just happiness but joy. Hence, the Lord in Matthew 6:33 says,
ìBut seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.î
and Paul by the Holy Ghost in Romans 14:17 defined the kingdom of God to encompass joy.
ìFor the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.î
If you chase after things, the best you can get is happiness. You can never find God when in pursuit of material things. If however you are pursuing God, not only will you find God and everlasting joy, you will also have material things you never struggled for. Which is better? To pursue things and have material blessings but lose God and Heaven, or to seek after God and have Him, joy, material things and eternity with Him in Heaven? What is your choice?
ìAnd they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.î
1 Corinthians 7:31
Another truth here is that those who are chasing things hold strongly to material things. They think they have a hold on things but the reality is that material things have taken them captive. It has become a stronghold in their lives. Of such, Jesus says in Mark 10:24:
ìAnd the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!î
In other words, they may feel that because they worked so hard for the money, they will need to justify every cent, penny or kobo they spend from it. It might get to a point where unknown to them, they begin to idolise or worship money. When you trust in your wealth saying in your heart that there is nothing to fear about sickness, hunger, lack, etc. your heart has left God. If you find it difficult to pay your tithe, give a generous offering or sow into God's kingdom, it is evidence that you are pursuing things and most probably serving them. Such people, irrespective of where they find themselves will almost worship people of means. They want to continue to amass wealth and be sure that their bank accounts are swelling. Anytime they suffer a loss, they lose their happiness. And if they suffer a major loss, they will want to kill themselves. Material things are a shadow. Stop chasing shadows because you can never catch one. Start to chase the real thing. Start to seek for God and how you can enlarge His Kingdom, and you will have beyond your bargain.
Key Point
There are things you will seek which will make you lose what's most important. Seek right!
Hope you liked! There's a link to the open heavens facebook page and you can go there to read the daily posts and learn a thing or to not forgetting to apply it to your everyday life. Heaven should alway be the ultimate goal in the end. x

Can I Talk To You - Peace Oseyenum
Hey everyone! When I started the blog I mentioned that I'd have a few contributors on the blog from time to time, so meet Peace! She's one of my good friends here in uni and she writes really well and I think everyone can relate to this particular one here. She's said she'll write how often she gets the chance to, we're all pretty busy with uni honestly but I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did!
***
Fellas can I talk to you?
I think it needs to be said, guys STOP getting involved with females you have no intention of having a future with! If you're not ready to love her the way Christ loved the church (Ephesians 5:25-26) then don't get involved.
As a male you know when a female is emotionally attached you, and you know when you want to pursue a female... So why take the keys to heart if you know full well nothing will happen in the future?
I mean are you so insecure that you have to have a girl attached to you in order to feel good? Are you that empty that you need a girl to fill a void of a females emotional attachment to you knowing full well that no long term effects will come out of it?
